Iron Wind Chimes

Description:
During hot summer months in Japan, ringing wind chimes are described as the sound of a cool breeze. Each bell is made from cast iron, with traditional shapes and accompanying paper. Please note that the paper included along with the bell is what catches the wind in order to make the bell ring! Feel free to customize the bell by attaching your own paper.

History: 

Fuurin (wind chimes in English) are traditionally hung outside of houses and buildings during the summertime. The first two styles on this page were designed by Mosuke Yashitake, and the second two were designed by Rikucho Ogasawara.

Without paper:
Iron Black - 2" L x 2" W x 2"H
Iron Green - 2" L x 2" W x 2"H
Fuurin Kai - 2" L x 1.5 W x 1.75" H
Fuurin Kasa - 2" L x 2.25 W x 2" H
All chimes are 19" L with paper

Materials: 
Iron, string, paper.

Care Instructions:
Each chime comes with a paper.  Attach the paper to the string in order to catch the breeze so the chime makes a sound.  Hang in dry area to extend the life of the attached paper.

 

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
