Shinkogei Wood Block Print Animals

Description:

These special animals are made by traditional woodprint craft that originated in Hida-city, of Gifu Japan. The fabric is first dyed using woodblock print using vegetable natrual dye, then the fabric is steamed at a high temperature to fix the dye in place. The fabric is then stuffed with rice chaff and given shape. Finally, the fabric is hand stitched to seal. The natural dye and natural rice chaff inside each of these little animals. 

Variation:
Each animal is made by hand. There may be variation in the color and appearance of the animals.

History: 
Hida was an important castle town in the Middle Ages, and today has a fine tradition for wooden furniture.

Care Instructions:
Spot clean with a small brush with warm soapy water. Air dry. 

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
