Makié Yahagi opened up her small children's boutique in New York in 1999. The daughter of a seamstress growing up in Japan, Makié was making clothing for her two sons (they’re now just a little older than her shop) when she got the idea to start a shop dedicated to children's clothing. All of her products are designed in New York, but made in Japan.
