S/N Brass Pen Holders

Description:
S/N is an expression of understated luxury through traditional craft. This minimalist pen holder doubles as a paper weight. The base is deliberately rounded so you can quickly pull a pen out of the holder without toppling the holder over. Use this to always keep your favorite writing utensil nearby and ready. The brass will patina as it ages, exposing its true beauty over time.

Each brass piece is handmade so there may be slight variation. Brass will patina over time, so its appearance and texture will change with use.

History:
The S/N series is collaborative line designed by Tortoise owner, Taku Shinomoto, and hand-made by the master craftspeople behind Nousaku Works. Located in the historical city of Takaoka, Takaoka City in Toyama Prefecture has a 400-year history of metal casting. Utilizing casting techniques handed down from generation to generation, Nousaku was established in 1916 primarily as a producer of Buddhist altar equipment, tea utensils, and flower vases. In recent years, the company has turned its focus to tableware, interior goods, and lighting fixtures, breaking the mold of a traditional industry by making products to complement modern lifestyles.

Care Instructions:
Brass will naturally patina over time. Oil and air will naturally darken this piece and make it shinier. This is part of its natural beauty. Do not use chemicals to clean. If exposed to water or moisture for long periods of time, it may cause the metal to change color quicker or spot.

Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
