The Story

Description:
This small, individual porcelain Arita ware teacup from Saga features the classic mizutama, or polka dot, motif in a nostalgic blue glaze with white dots. The design reflects the everyday tableware style popular in Showa-era Japan around the mid-1960s.

Balanced in the hand and crafted from durable porcelain, the teacup is suitable for daily use and dishwasher safe. Ideal for sencha, genmaicha, or houjicha, it brings a touch of mid-century Japanese design to both casual tea breaks and shared meals. Tea pot sold separately.

Built-in toumaru (half ball shape) porcelain strainer and removable stainless steel strainer

Due to the natural material, each piece may show slight variation.

Care Instructions:
Hand-wash recommended


Returns must be made within 2 weeks in original, unused condition with all packaging for either 1. Store credit for the full amount or 2. Refund - minus a 20% restocking fee.  Tortoise does not cover the cost of return shipping or the cost of re-shipping an exchange, and the cost of shipping for returns and exchanges is the responsibility of the customer.
